Ronald and Marilyn (Moore) Cline of Plaistow, N.H., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 2, 2011, 2 to 5 p.m. with a reception for family and friends at the Advent Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 160 Carleton St., in Haverhill (enter at the back of the church). The family will also worship together on Sunday and have a meal at a favorite restaurant in the couple's honor.
A mutual friend introduced Ronald, a Marine, from Massena, N.Y., and Marilyn, from Haverhill, to each other in March 1951 and thus began their whirlwind courtship and many adventures. They married on June 30, 1951, in the Advent Christian Church. They have enjoyed long careers (Marilyn in office management at The Smith Companies, and Ronald working for Floyd L. Moore, Painting and Paperhanging, and also working at The Smith Companies).
Ronald and Marilyn have five children: daughter, Brenda, wife of Gary Stevens of Bloomington, Ill.; daughter, Judith, who was still-born; son, Calvin, husband of Theresia of Loveland, Colo.; daughter, Cynthia, wife of Derek Wilson of Hudsonville, Mich.; and an "adopted" daughter, Berys, wife of Ralph Richardson of Riverview, New Brunswick (Canada). They also have been blessed with nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Over the years they have faithfully served in numerous capacities at the Advent Christian Church. They have also delighted in taking many trips abroad and will display photo albums and mementos of their travels at the anniversary reception.
