MARK VOGLER/Staff photo. Coady's Towing pulls this Toyota Rav4 out of Plug Pond last night. Several witnesses said they saw a man drive the car into the pond and later resist rescue efforts. A group of rescuers pulled the driver out of the car after it sunk to the bottom with only its roof not submerged. A 43-year-old Haverhill man was taken to the hospital and was under observation last night. The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m.
