Jim Rapoli of Plaistow, left, and Richard Eastman of Haverhill pick tomatoes in the garden at St. John the Baptist church on Lincoln Street in Haverhill. This garden between the church and the hospital will yield tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and other produce which will be donated to clients of the Open Hand Pantry. Catholic Charities closed the pantry in June, and St. James and St. John the Baptist are now sponsoring it.
