Tamara Lanier of Norwich, Conn., left, and Gabrielle Foreman of Delaware, pray over a casket with the remains of an enslaved man known as Mr. Fortune at the Capitol in Hartford yesterday. Mr. Fortune was honored with a funeral more than 200 years after he died in Connecticut.
