Lucille Marino of 57 Haigh Ave., blows leaves from her lawn yesterday afternoon. She lives next to the end of the street, shown behind her, and she and eight other residents have been working with the town to have those houses sold and razed to become a flood plain and runoff area for Interstate 93 drainage. Her house backs up to the Spicket River, and I-93 runs very close by, too. Her house has flooded four times in the 18 years she’s lived there. Next year she will move to Salisbury Beach in Massachusetts. “You have to stay positive,” she said, “it’s a good thing.” Allegra Boverman/Staff photo
