In ceremonies at its O'Keefe Sports Center on April 24, Salem State University's men's ice hockey team welcomed Bryen Davies to its 2013-2014 roster. The 12-year-old, from Lawrence, was recruited through a partnership with Team IMPACT, a nonprofit organization based in Quincy, Massachusetts, that is chartered to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening illnesses. Team IMPACT helps draft children onto local college athletic teams, allowing them to become an official member of the team for the duration of their treatment and beyond.
