Police warn truckers to clear snow, ice from vehicles

The Eagle-Tribune

---- — CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire State Police are warning drivers of tractor-trailer trucks and motor carriers to clear snow and ice from their trailers to prevent hazardous conditions for other drivers.

Police say sheets of ice and snow flying off trucks and carriers can cause damage to nearby vehicles and cause accidents as drivers swerve to avoid being hit.

Under New Hampshire state law, drivers who do not clear snow and ice accumulations may be cited for negligent driving.

Police also advise all drivers to leave enough space when following trucks to allow enough time to react and avoid any snow or ice that flies off the truck.
