---- — BOSTON (AP) — A Cape Cod town is now considering becoming the first community in the country to tear down its wind turbines.

The town’s two turbines have been controversial since the first one was installed in 2010.

Some neighbors have persistently complained about the noise from the turbines and also attribute a range of ailments to them, from dizziness, to headaches to memory loss.

Some in town say it’s far too soon to tear down a critical renewable energy project they estimate could produce $450,000 in revenues for the town annually.

The town would have to borrow $14 million to tear the turbines down. Last night, Town Meeting assembly was to decide whether to put the question about borrowing the money to voters in May.
