---- — BRENTWOOD, N.H. — A New Hampshire grand jury has indicted a Plaistow man on multiple assault charges after police say he beat and burned his girlfriend’s 3-year-old son last month.
A grand jury indicted 27-year-old Roland Dow on charges related to the beating and burning of James Nicholson,
Rockingham County Attorney Jim Reams said last night that the Circuit Court cancelled the Probable Cause hearing scheduled for Monday because the Superior Court confirmed the indictment.
“The actual Indictments will be released next week,” he said in an email.
Dow and the boy’s mother — 23-year-old Jessica Linscott — fled to Florida rather than face police questioning after they brought the baby to Exeter Hospital.
Police say Dow struck the baby in the head so hard as to cause traumatic brain injury and seizures. Linscott is charged with multiple counts of child endangerment for allegedly failing to bring the boy in for treatment sooner.
Federal marshals apprehended Dow and Linscott at a Florida theme park last week.
