Flight evacuated at Logan Airport

BOSTON (AP) — A Delta Airlines flight has been evacuated at Logan International Airport in Boston after a problem with a wheel brake was discovered before takeoff.

A Massport spokesman said 143 passengers and six crew members from Flight 2101 to Atlanta exited the plane by stairway on the tarmac Thursday. A tweet by Massport said the passengers were bused back to the terminal “safely and calmly.”

In a statement, Delta said the MD-90 aircraft had “an issue with one of its wheel brake mechanisms.”

The statement said Delta technicians were examining the issue with airport officials, and passengers were being re-booked on different flights.
