WINDHAM — A 19-year-old man was flown to a Boston hospital last night after two jet skis collided on Cobbetts Pond.

The unidentified man suffered a serious head injury but it is not believed to be life threatening, according to the Fire Department.

The collision occurred shortly before 8 p.m., resulting in a flurry of 911 emergency calls to police. The accident happened just before the town's fireworks show.

The unidentified victim was taken in a civilian boat to the town beach, where an ambulance was waiting.

A medical helicopter landed at Griffin Park, about a mile away, and shuttled the injured man to Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston for treatment, the Fire Department said.

The accident remained under investigation last night.
