Pedestrian killed on I-93 in Londonderry

The Eagle-Tribune

---- — LONDONDERRY — A pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 93 north at about 4:45 this afternoon, tying up traffic for miles.

New Hampshire State Police reopened the Exit 4 on-ramp at about 6:30 p.m., but traffic is backed up throughout Londonderry and Derry, including on alternate roads.

Little information has been released, but scanner reports indicated a man jumped out of a car on the highway, then was struck and killed.

The accident, visible from the Ash Street bridge, stopped traffic for quite a while.

There are indications the incident may have started as a domestic dispute in a vehicle, which ended tragically when one party left the car and was reportedly running up the highway when he was hit.
