DiZoglio takes 14th Essex House seat

Political newcomer Diana DiZoglio, D-Methuen has won the 14th Essex state House seat that was redrawn into her hometown of Methuen after upsetting the incumbent Democratic representative in the primary.

DiZoglio ran nearly even in North Andover, home of her opponent Republican Karin Rhoton, winning 4,144 votes to Rhoton's 4,218. In Methuen, DiZoglio won handily, getting 3,917 votes to Rhoton's 1,318.

DiZoglio upset incumbent state Rep. David Torrisi, D-North Andover, in the primary in September after his seat was redrawn to include several Methuen precincts.
