Derry teen succumbs to crash injuries

Derry teen dead

DERRY — A Derry teenager has died from injuries suffered in a New Year's Eve car crash.

Kyle Ross, 17, was the driver in the accident that happened about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Gulf Road when officials said the vehicle left the road and struck a tree at high speed.

Derry police confirmed this morning that Ross died yesterday afternoon from his injuries.

Capt. Vern Thomas said the cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Derry police crash team.

Another Pinkerton student, 16-year-old Johanna Morse, a passenger, remains in a Boston hospital with what officials described as life-threatening injuries.

Morse and Ross are both from Derry.

Both were taken to Boston hospitals following the crash.

A third teenager, Thompson Upham-Davis, 16, of Chester, was found walking by the car with only minor injuries. He was the only one wearing a seatbelt.
