Car driven by North Andover woman jumps curb at Logan Airport, hits 3 people

BOSTON (AP) — A car driven by a 53-year-old North Andover woman, has jumped a curb in the arrivals area of a Logan International Airport terminal and hit three people.

Massachusetts Port Authority spokesman Matthew Brelis says the people were taken from Terminal C to hospitals on Wednesday afternoon. He doesn't know how badly injured they were but says they were conscious.

State police are investigating. They are not releasing the name of the driver.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that a 1995 black Lexus sedan pulled up to the passenger pick up lane and stopped. The Lexus then drove over the curb and struck three pedestrians. One of the pedestrians was transported by ambulance to Mass General Hospital and the other two pedestrians were transported to Tufts Medical Center.

The operator of the Lexus is currently being interviewed. The State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section is processing the scene.

Boston Logan International Airport is the biggest transportation center in New England, handling tens of millions of passengers each year.
