Resident's whereabouts uncertain after fire in Danville

DANVILLE — Multiple fire departments, state and local police are at the scene of a horrific fire at 52 Pine St.

A Meals on Wheels volunteer went to the home around noon to deliver lunch to the 89-year-old female resident of the home and spoke to her from outside, Kingston Fire Chief William Seaman said.

But by then, the upper floors of the home were engulfed in flame.

The home burned and collapsed.

Officials are trying to determine the whereabouts of the resident, who reportedly lived in the home for decades.

Utility crews also are at the scene, cutting power to what's left of the building.

Pine Street runs east from Route 111A to Long Pond Road.
