'Sweeney Todd' is back on at Timberlane

PLAISTOW — Timberlane Regional High School students will perform "Sweeney Todd" next spring after all.

Superintendent Earl Metzler announced late this afternoon that school administrators decided the play would be performed as long as certain criteria were met.

Those criteria included performing a "high school-appropriate" adaption and that a second play would performed that would be appropriate for all ages.

The second performance would be in December, Metzler said. The announcement was made to the Timberlane Players at about 4 p.m., he said.

Administrators called off the play last month because they did not think its content was appropriate.
