---- — BRENTWOOD — A judge has ordered that suspended Rockingham County Attorney James Reams be reinstated.
Merrimack County Superior Court judge ruled yesterday Reams is allowed to return to his post and that his suspension by Rockingham County commissioners was "unlawful."
Judge Richard McNamara said in his order that Reams would be able to return following a 30-day stay that allows the decision to be appealed to the state Supreme Court
Reams was suspended in November and his prosecutorial authority stripped by Attorney General Joseph Foster amid allegations he sexually harassed female employees, mishandled funds and mismanaged the office.
Reams said late yesterday afternoon he's happy to be reinstated. He has denied the allegations against him.
"This has all been smoke and mirrors, and this is finally the end," Reams said.
