Person hit by car at Westgate Plaza

HAVERHILL — Police requested a medical helicopter in response to a pedestrian struck by car at the Westgate Shopping Plaza at Lowell Avenue and River Street.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Lawrence General Hospital. No medical helicopter was initially available, according to police.

The incident happened shortly after 6 p.m. Friday.

No other information was immediately available.
