Man seriously hurt in Londonderry crash

LONDONDERRY — A man was seriously injured when he slammed his car into a tree near 60 Forest St. early this morning.

The man, who was not identified, was described as being in his early 20s. He had to be extricated from the Subaru, which took about 50 minutes, according to the Londonderry Fire Department.

A medical helicopter landed at South School and flew the victim to Tufts Medical Center in Boston, according to Battalion fire Chief Jim Roger.

The crash occurred at about 3:30 a.m. There were no other vehicles involved.

A firefighter received a minor injury to his hand.

Londonderry received assistance from Derry, Windham and Litchfield.
