Market Basket battle spreads to Indian Ridge Country Club

ANDOVER — Police were called to the Indian Ridge Country Cub this morning, along with a locksmith, as a management company hired by the board of Demoulas Supermarkets took over operation of the club.

Sterling Management was bought in by the board of the Tewksbury-based grocery chain, according to Cheri Nolan, the current manager of the Demoulas-owned golf course.

Nolan and several other managers said they expected to lose their jobs as a result of what they called a housecleaning to remove supporters of ousted supermarket CEO Arthur T. Demoulas.

Demoulas was fired by the board on Monday after a long-running family feud over control of the company between Arthur T. and a faction led by his cousin Arthur S. Demoulas.

Police arrived at 8 a.m. at the club off Lovejoy Road, along with members of the Market Basket board. A locksmith was also called in to change locks.
