Pregnant woman arraigned for allegedly dealing heroin

LAWRENCE — A 7-month-pregnant woman was arraigned Wednesday in Lawrence District Court for allegedly selling heroin in a Methuen school zone.

Police arrested Alba Cruz, 32, of 20 Bennett St. in Lawrence, Tuesday after alegedly observing her sell heroin to two New Hampshire residents on Strathmore Road near St. Ann's Home and School at 100 Haverhill St.

Cruz is charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance and violating a drug free school zone.

Cruz was released on personal recognizance with a $2,000 personal surity. Kierstead was released on personal recognizance, as was Beland under the condition he pay his outstanding fine to Fitchburg District Court.
