Man seriously hurt in fall

METHUEN — Fire Department officials have called for a medical helicopter to transport 28-year-old man who suffered serious injuries in a fall of 18 to 20 feet.

About 6:30 p.m., officials were clearing an area for helicopter landing along Burnham Road. The man received serious head injuries, a possible broken nose, and leg and arm injuries after falling onto the pavement, according to report on the police scanner. Officials said the man was conscious and talking.

The fall happened at 945 Riverside Drive, according to scanner reports.

The plan was to transport the man to a Boston hospital.
