Motorcyclist flown from Hampstead crash scene

HAMPSTEAD — A 23-year-old motorcyclist was transported by medical helicopter after colliding with a car earlier this evening.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was traveling south on Route 121A, near the intersection of Route 111, when he passed a car on the right, police at the scene said.

A car heading north on Route 121A was turning in to Walgreen's, and the motorcycle struck the right front corner of that Hyundai Sonata. That driver, identified only as an 82-year-old woman, was not injured.

The motorcyclist, whom police have not identified, flew over the hood of the car and landed in the roadway, near the entrance to Walgreen's.
