North Andover's Tyler Sifferlen commits to UMass-Lowell hockey

UMass Lowell has received a verbal commitment from North Andover resident Tyler Sifferlen.

The 6-foot, 175-pound left winger is currently a junior at Malden Catholic and played an integral role in two straight state titles at MC.

He’s slated to begin his collegiate career in either 2014 or 2015. Before Malden Catholic, Sifferlen skated on North Andover’s varsity team as an eighth grader.

Sifferlen scored 23 points (9 goals, 14 assists) in 24 games with MC last season, primarily skating as the left wing on the second line.

Check out tomorrow's Eagle-Tribune for more about Sifferlen's decision.
