BREAKING: Possible pipe bombs found in Lawrence, near Methuen line

LAWRENCE — Police have blocked off an area near 200 Exchange St., near the Methuen line after finding unknown chemicals and possible pipe bombs. 

Both the Methuen and Lawrence departments have responded, along with a Hazmat team and the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad. Homes around the area have been evacuated.

The incident began when police went to the house to recover weapons. On the premises they came across the chemicals and what they believe to be pipe bombs.
