Update: Driver flown to Boston after crash in Salem identified

Update: The operator of the vehicle that had crashed on north Main Street has been identified as Daniel Moore, 40, of Hampstead, N.H. 

He was transported to Beth Israel Hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.  The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

SALEM, N.H. — An early-morning accident sent the driver involved to a Boston hospital via medical helicopter.

Police received a call at 2:36 this morning from a resident at 230 N. Main St., reporting a rollover on the lawn of their home.

Police responded and found the driver had been ejected and was lying on the lawn there.

Salem Fire took the victim, whom police did not identify, to Lawrence General Hospital. From there, he was flown to a Boston hospital. Police released no further details about his condition nor what might have led to the crash.

No other vehicles were involved.

The Salem Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident.
