Pelham police arrest two burglary suspects

PELHAM — Two men have been arrested in connection with numerous burglaries in several towns.

Matthew Szczechura, 29, of Pelham and Jeffrey Lavoie, 26, of Hudson were arrested about 5 p.m. yesterday during a motor vehicle stop on Mammoth Road in Pelham, police said. Stolen merchandise was seized from the vehicle.

The men are suspects in approximately 20 burglaries in Pelham, Windham, Hudson, Danville, Sandown, Dracut and Tyngsborough, police said.

Szczechura and Lavoie also are believed to have been involved in several other unsolved burglaries in area towns, police said.

Szczechura was charged with being a fugitive from justice, burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. Lavoie was charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. The men are expected to face additional charges, police said.

Szczechura and Lavoie are being held pending their arraignment in 10th Circuit Court in Salem.
