Letoile gets 14 to 28 years in child porn case

BRENTWOOD — A Hampstead man was sentenced today to 14 to 28 years in prison on child pornography charges.

Robert Letoile, 41, of 176 E. Main St. was found guilty on 26 counts of possessing child pornography June 22 after a three-day trial in Rockingham Superior Court.

Letoile received three and a half to seven years in state prison each for four of the counts. The sentences on the other 22 counts were suspended by Judge N. William Delker for 20 years following Letoile's release.

He was arrested two years ago after a family member found child pornography on his home computer.

He was indicted by a grand jury on 25 counts of possession of child pornography and 25 counts of attempted possession of child pornography.

The charges were later dropped because questions arose over the legality of searching his computer.

New charges were brought against Letoile after Delker ruled that police were justified in searching the computer.

Letoile had been free on $75,000 cash bail.
