Steve Bucuzzo, assistant town manager in Andover, picked as new Dracut town manager

DRACUT — Steve Bucuzzo — Andover’s assistant town manager since June 2001 — has been named the town manager of Dracut.

Bucuzzo, 49, was picked on a 4-0 vote by the Dracut Board of Selectmen during a meeting tonight. He will succeed Dennis Piendak, who is retiring in November after 26 years on the job.

Bucuzzo earned $124,590 in Andover last year. He lives in Haverhill.

He was one of four finalists for the job.

One of the selectmen abstained from the vote, saying Bucuzzo was her second choice.

Bucuzzo could not immediately be reached for comment.

Selectmen were expected to adjourn and go into executive session to discuss the terms of Bucuzzo's contract.
