Reading Co-operative Bank recently made a donation to Angel Flight New England, becoming a Wings of Hope sponsor. Angel Flight is in its 10th year of service, scheduling 4 million flights a year free of charge for children and adults who require transportation to receive needed medical care. Reading Co-operative Bank, founded in 1886, has offices in Reading, North Reading and two locations in Wilmington.

Linda Zimmerman, executive director of Neighbors In Need in Lawrence, recently received nearly 40 complete Thanksgiving turkey dinners and $700 in cash donated by local Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage agents, their families and friends. Paula Faist, director of Silverthorne Adult Day Center in Salem, N.H., since 1993, was recently elected president of the Adult Day Services of New Hampshire Association. In this position, she will work to educate state representatives on the cost-effectiveness of adult day services and physicians and the general population on the medical care, support and various activities offered at adult day-service centers throughout the state.

Interlocks Salon and Day Spa in Newburyport recently announced the appointment of Christine Scovotti of Haverhill as senior manager. Throughout her seven years at Interlocks, Scovotti has served as a certified makeup artist and then moved to retail sales, eventually earning management responsibilities. In addition to coordinating the buying and inventory control for the salon's makeup lines, she designs consumer promotions and researches the international marketplace for innovative new products. Applying her experience in customer service, Scovotti's new duties include staff management, client relations and customer service programs.

Judi Coish of Lakeside Insurance Agency Inc. in Windham, N.H., was recently appointed a special Blue Streak representative for Central Insurance Companies. Blue Streak status is awarded to those who maintain professional standards and a track record for producing personal insurance business for Central Insurance Companies.

Kevin Flaherty of Bradford was recently appointed to a five-year term on the Northern Essex Community College board of trustees by Gov. Mitt Romney. Flaherty is a special projects coordinator for the city of Haverhill's Highway Department as well as proprietor of J.M. Flaherty Construction Co.

"As a nontraditional student, who only recently graduated from Northern Essex, Kevin brings with him a knowledge and understanding of the college and its mission from a very personal level," said NECC President David Hartleb. "Kevin's experiences at NECC combined with his self-taught business acumen are a great mix for the board. We are happy to have him join us."

Flaherty is a graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School and graduated from NECC in May 2005 with an associate's degree in liberal arts.

Dr. Ralph Wade of Haverhill was recently named coordinator of the new paramedic technology program at Northern Essex Community College. Dr. Wade received his bachelor of arts in biology from Merrimack College and his medical degree in biology from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field, having worked in emergency services at North Shore Medical Center/Salem Hospital, Atlanticare Medical Center, North Shore Trauma Center in Lynn and the former Hale Hospital in Haverhill.
