---- — AMESBURY — The Greater Haverhill and Amesbury Chambers of Commerce are collaborating to host the first “Family Appreciation Day: Winter Festival.” The event will take place on Jan. 14, at Amesbury Sports Park, 12 South Hunt Road in Amesbury. The Winter Festival will feature unlimited snow tubing, an open skating rink, magic shows, and more. The sports park will have food and beverages for sale. For people of all ages, the event will start in the afternoon to allow young families and school-aged children to participate, and will continue into the evening to allow for professionals to participate after the work day concludes. Families are encouraged to participate and businesses are encouraged to treat their hard-working employees. Participants should bring their own ice skates to enjoy the open skating rink. The event is split into two waves or blocks of time; Afternoon Wave (3:30 to 6:15 p.m.) and Evening Wave (6:15 to 9 p.m.). Tickets are $10 per wave or $18 for both. LOWELL — John Deignan of Tewksbury, an employee of Fred C. Church Insurance, has been promoted to Commercial Team Leader. Deignan joined the agency in 2010, as a Commercial Account Manager in the agency’s Lowell headquarters. RAYMOND, N.H. — Jewett Automotive Design & Construction, a division of Raymond, N.H.-based Jewett Construction Company, Inc., has contracted with Commonwealth Motors to provide interior renovations to its Nissan and Honda dealerships in Lawrence. The Nissan project involves converting a portion of the existing service area into an expanded body shop, while work at the Honda facility includes the construction of a sound soffit to buffer service area noise from service advisors and service customers. This is the third project Jewett Automotive has undertaken for Commonwealth Motors. In 2012, Jewett extensively renovated its Nissan dealership, a three-phase project involving multiple additions, and built a ground-up, state of the art Chevrolet dealership for the client as well. HAVERHILL — In the wake of Haverhill Community Television’s 25th anniversary event, held at Renaissance Golf Club in Haverhill on Nov. 20, the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and Haverhill Community Television were privileged to welcome Gov. Deval Patrick to Haverhill on the morning of Nov. 21. The governor joined in celebration of HCTV’s anniversary and grand unveiling of their new logo. The Chamber’s executive staff, President Sven Amirian and Vice President Jen Cantwell, were featured performers and contributors in the television studio’s featured movie trailers which were highlighted at the event. The trailers emphasized decades of Haverhill history, politics and business with parodies of feature films. Over 230 people appreciated the efforts of the community-based television station, including elected officials, business leaders and community members, who came together in an effort of camaraderie and celebration. ANDOVER — The Andover Choral Society welcomes Michael Driscoll to the role of music director. Driscoll has served as music director of Boston’s Saengerfest Men’s Chorus and has been a guest conductor with Chorus pro Musica. He is currently the director of choirs at Brookline High School, president of the Massachusetts chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association and a doctoral candidate in choral conducting at Boston University.

HAVERHILL — The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce announces the grand opening of Ocasio’s True Martial Arts, a longtime Chamber member who has just relocated to 192 Merrimack St., Suite 1, in downtown Haverhill. Ocasio’s was formerly located at the beginning of Merrimack Street, close to Main Street and Route 125. The grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony were held on Nov. 20.
