Portalla, an aviation officer at Logan Airport, observed an individual taking photos in a security restricted area. Officer Portalla approached the individual and explained that photography is not permitted in the secure area of the airport. Officer Portalla then asked the individual to delete the photographs, confirmed that the images were deleted and notified the State Police.

Portalla was recognized with ten other airport employees at a ceremony attended by Gov. Deval Patrick and Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray at Logan’s Terminal E.

HAVERHILL — Rebuilding Together Greater Haverhill, Inc. (RTGHI) has been awarded a grant from the Merrimack Valley General Fund, a fund of the Essex County Community Foundation. RTGHI will use the grant funds to repair homes of low-income homeowners.

LOWELL — Robert Caruso, chairman of The Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank, announces the recent hire of Mark Katimy. Katimy joins The Lowell Five as a vice president of commercial lending. With over 18 years of banking experience, Katimy has held positions at Andover Bank, Stoneham Cooperative Bank, and most recently at Reading Cooperative Bank. He will primarily focus on serving the needs of Lowell Five’s commercial customers in the Tewksbury and Wilmington areas.

LOWELL — Robert Caruso, chairman of The Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank, announces the recent hire of Patricia O’Donnell. O’Donnell joins The Lowell Five as a mobile mortgage loan originator. She has experience in both banking, real estate, and most recently held the position of director of marketing for James L. Cooney Insurance and Real Estate. As a mobile mortgage loan originator, O’Donnell will meet with mortgage applicants at their home or office to find and secure the appropriate loan.

BRADFORD — Lochinvar, LLC, a leading manufacturer of high-efficiency water heaters and boilers based in Lebanon, Tenn., announces that Joseph DiPietro of DiPietro Heating & Cooling, Inc. in Bradford was selected as the winner of a drawing for an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Nashville. The prize package includes accommodations for three days, as well as tickets to the world’s largest country music festival in June 2013.
