---- — LONDONDERRY — Wallboard Supply Company, a Londonderry-based building supply company, presented the staff at Dana-Farber/New Hampshire Oncology/Hematology (NHOH) with a donation of almost $18,000. The donation was raised during the company’s 14th annual charity golf tournament held in Stow, Mass.

Dana-Farber/New Hampshire Oncology-Hematology provides expert cancer care in Londonderry. The center makes it possible to offer the expertise and experience of Dana-Farber, New England’s leading cancer center, while enabling patients to enjoy the comfort and convenience of staying close to home.

HAVERHILL — The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce Downtown Haverhill Committee is looking for a Christmas tree that can be donated to the city for the holiday season.

Traditionally, the Christmas tree that is on display throughout the holiday season is donated by a member of the community who is willing to have the tree cut from their yard and donated to the city. The City of Haverhill Department of Public Works is responsible for the tree removal and placement in Washington Square at no cost to the owner.

The tree will be decorated by Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and will be lit for the first time during the annual Christmas Stroll, this year on Dec. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. The tree lighting ceremony will take place toward the end of the event. Anyone with a tree that will make a good Christmas tree for Haverhill, contact the Chamber at 978-373-5663 or email jen@haverhillchamber.com.

HAVERHILL — The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce Downtown Haverhill Committee has unanimously decided to occupy two evenings with winter-themed activities. This year, the Annual Penguin Pub Crawl will take place on Dec. 7, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and the Christmas Stroll will take place on Dec. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m., both in Downtown Haverhill.

The committee will also feature guest emcee Matt Noyes, NECN’s weekday evening meteorologist, to host the annual event.

The Penguin Pub Crawl will host two divisions, an Individual Division which is free to participate and will award entry into raffle prize drawings, and a Team Division which will come with a higher tier of prizes and includes gift bags for participants. To participate in the Team Division, teams must pay $100. Typically open to all participants, the celebration “after-party” will be open to teams only and there is a limit of 25 teams. Sign-up information will be released shortly.

This year’s Christmas Stroll will boast a tree-lighting ceremony and activities such as Creative Haverhill’s Shops@90Wash which promotes shopping with local artisans, locally prepared food in the tented food court; “A Christmas Carol” on Wingate Street; rides up and down downtown streets compliments of Haverhill Bank; children’s activities including gingerbread decorating, ornament making and face painting; traditional and new music live in Washington Square; Christmas village at Haverhill Bank; Christmas Castle at Pentucket Bank, shopping, dining and more.
