LOWELL — Kevin Zipps of Dracut has been promoted to Assistant Vice President - Consumer Loan Manager at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. Zipps has worked at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union for 13 years in many different capacities including teller, member service representative, head teller, and assistant branch manager and his current role as Assistant Vice President - Consumer Loan Manager, where he oversees the Credit Union’s Consumer Loan team. He volunteers as a big brother for Big Brother-Big Sister of Greater Lowell, serves on the board of the Young Professionals of Greater Lowell and leads its scholarship committee. Zipps also coaches a Little League baseball team. In 2012, he was selected as “Rising Star” by the Massachusetts Credit Union League for his dedication and service to the industry.

HAVERHILL — The Arc of Greater Haverhill-Newburyport (The Arc) was awarded a $2,000 grant from the Merrimack Valley General Fund, a fund of the Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF). The Arc will use the grant funds for Community Works!, an Employment Readiness Project for Transition Age (18-22) Youth with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities I/DD). This project will provide five young adults with I/DD paid internships and training in local Haverhill area businesses. Using person centered approaches, students will be placed in employment based on their interests and abilities and provided with job training and support. The Arc will provide training and consultation with school personnel, parents, and collaborate with adult services agency professionals and local businesses to implement this project. The Merrimack Valley General Fund (MVGF) is a field of interest fund at ECCF serving agencies in the Eastern Merrimack Valley. The fund was established when the Merrimack Valley Community Foundation merged with ECCF in 2004. The MVGF funds programs serving the community in the areas of Arts and Culture, Education, Social and Community Services, and Youth Service.
