In Massachusetts, a 1.9-cent increase over seven days drove the average price for self-service regular to $3.927 per gallon on Wednesday, compared to $3.908 the prior week, AAA reported. Wednesday’s average was 29.1 cents higher than the Bay State average of $3.636 recorded on the same day of 2011.
Wednesday’s New Hampshire average of $3.901 represented a 2.0-cent rise from the $3.881 reported by AAA seven days earlier. On the same day last year, New Hampshire’s state-wide figure of $3.603 was 29.8 cents below Wednesday’s average.
The auto club compiled a national average of $3.584 on Wednesday, a dip of 0.4 pennies from the prior Wednesday’s level of $3.858. Wednesday’s national average was 26.6 cents higher than the $3.588 recorded on the same day last year.
