TRUMPET and ORGAN DUO “PISTONS and PIPES,” 3 p.m. at The First Church, 1 Concord St., Nashua. Featuring Richard Watson, trumpet and Douglas Major, organ. Free admission. Valentine Dessert Extravaganza, 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brookstone Event Center, 14 Route 111, Derry. Includes an array of fancy desserts, cheeses, crackers, fruit, many teas, coffee and hot chocolate. Enjoy talented musicians and local celebrity emcees in celebration of Family Promise providing temporary housing, meals and help toward permanent safe housing for homeless families with children. There will be door prizes as well as prizes for most beautiful hat, most Victorian outfit, farthest travelled, and table games. Table decorating contest requires pre-registration. Winners who receive the most $1 votes will earn dinner certificates. Bring guests. 96th Anniversary of Lithuanian Independence, 12:30 p.m. in the Corpus Christi/Holy Rosary Church Hall on Common Street in Lawrence. Hosted by the Lithuanian Council of Greater Lawrence. The traditional Lithuanian dinner is $12 for adults, $5 for children. Also includes a film, entertainment and a lottery. A bilingual Mass will be held at 11 a.m. in the lower church. 978-685-4478.
