Department of Safety’s Boating Education Class, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Windham Fire Department, 3 Fellows Road. New Hampshire has a mandatory boating education law. Everyone 16 years of age and older who operates a motorboat over 25 horsepower on New Hampshire waters must have a boating education certificate. This program is designed to assist the boating public in having a safer, more enjoyable experience on the water through boating education. There is a $30 non-refundable fee per person for the class. Sunday, April 13

Free masters workshop in the art of piano playing, 4 to 6 p.m. in the Hartleb Technology Center, Northern Essex Community College, 100 Elliot St., Haverhill. With NECC music faculty member Christina Dietrich. Piano players will have the chance to perform and learn in a cooperative group setting. Solo piano works and instrumental and vocal works with piano accompaniment of various levels of difficulty will be explored. Various aspects of piano performance and preparation will also be discussed. Students at all levels of playing ability are welcome to attend. Email cdietrich@necc.mass.edu.

Healthy Kids Running Series, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at AVIS-West Parish Meadow, off Reservation Road, Andover. Pre-K will do the 50 yard dash, kindergarten and first grade will do the 1/4 mile, second and third graders will do the 1/2 mile, fourth and fifth graders and middle school students will do the one mile race. Top placers in each race will receive points based on their finish. The boy and girl racer with the most points at the end of the series will win a trophy and a prize. Medals will be awarded to every racer after the last race in the series. Gift bags will be distributed to all participants. Cost is $30 for the series, $10 per race.
