“Capturing the Beauty” — an exhibition by “The Merrimac Valley Group,” 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lawrence Heritage State Park, 1 Jackson St. “The Merrimac Valley Group” is comprised of local photographers who enjoy spending time together taking photos locally and on jaunts elsewhere. They include Cinde Perdigao, Gary and Judi Hoyt, Sandy Thomas, Bill Willis, Joe Reardon, Larry Warfield, Ron Wybranowski, Richard Ferland, Roy Haddock, Deb Sullivan, and Bob Ring. The show was organized by Roy Haddock. The exhibit features a varied collection of scenic, nature, and artistically interpreted images. An artists’ reception will be held on Feb. 16, from noon to 3 p.m. with light refreshments. Storm date for the reception will be Feb. 23. Free admission. Call 978-794-1655 or visit mass.gov.

17th Annual Valentine Concert, 5 p.m. at the West Parish Church, 129 Reservation Road, Andover. Mistral, formerly Andover Chamber Music, will present “Postcards from Around the World: Viennoisseries.” The Mistral 2013-14 concert season is funded in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Informational meeting of the newly formed VFW Men’s Auxiliary, 6 p.m. at The John H. Hargreaves Memorial Post 10722 VFW, 6 Main St., Pelham. Membership in the Men’s Auxiliary is open to husbands, widowers, fathers, grandfathers, sons, grandsons, brothers and half brothers of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the VFW (regardless of present VFW membership status), or active duty members of the military serving in a war zone, or Korea; or deceased veteran who served in the U.S. military and served overseas, stationed in Korea during or after the Korean War, or received the Combat Action Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, etc., and received an honorable discharge. Members must be at least 16 and not be eligible themselves for membership in the VFW. Questions will be answered and the organizations benefits will be explained at the meeting.
