Candy Swap & Family Movie Night, 4:30 p.m. at the Kingston Community Library. Bring extra Halloween candy to donate to Operation Gratitude. Candy will be sent in care packages to troops overseas. Children can get their faces painted by Kimberly Connell from the Painted Pineta, make Halloween crafts and a card for a soldier. Bring some food, take some food at the Potluck Dinner. The screening of “ParaNorman” will start at 5:30 p.m. All ages welcome. Parents are encouraged to bring a spooky potluck dish for dinner. Thanksgiving Turkey Cheer, 7 p.m. at Relief’s In, 1 Market St., Lawrence. The Lawrence Knights of Columbus will offer free refreshments and prizes with its annual event to benefit the Children’s Christmas Party. A complete Thanksgiving dinner will be raffled. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, and raffle rounds of six prizes each for turkeys, hams, bottles and packages of cheer, and assorted cookies and snacks. Call 978-609-6420.

“Pirates of Penzance” Opera by the Treble Chorus of New England, 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday at West Middle School, 70 Shawsheen Road, Andover. Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for students and seniors. Call 978-470-8263.

Saturday, Nov. 2

Andover High School’s Golden Warrior Marching Band Fall Redeemable Bottle & Can Drive, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Middle School, 70 Shawsheen Road, Andover. Rain or shine. All proceeds will support the AHS Marching Band. Only redeemable bottles and cans will be accepted.

Wine & Art Reception, at Veasey Park, 201 Washington St., Groveland. Local artists will offer their work for viewing and for sale. Guests will enjoy three hours of unlimited food and drink surrounded by art and artists. Also includes a live musical performance by “Don’t Call Me Shirley,” raffles, door prizes and other activities. Proceeds will support the operations of Veasey Park.
