Groveland

Jordan Mini of Groveland received a bachelor of science degree from Lasell College during commencement exercises on May 13. Mini majored in hospitality and event management. Mini also earned dean's list status for the 2012 spring semester.

Erica Elia of Groveland, a junior at Central Catholic High School, was inducted into the National Honor Society on Tuesday, May 1.

Ben Perron, son of Bernie and Sheila Perron of Groveland, graduated from Navy Bootcamp at Recruit Training Command (RTC), Naval Station, Great Lakes, Ill., on April 20. Perron is now at the Medical Education and Training Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. He is training to be a corpsman. Perron is a 2011 graduate of Pentucket Regional High School.

Haverhill

Mary Giambarresi, a Haverhill resident, was recently recognized for an excellent academic performance this past semester at Wheelock College and was placed on the dean's list.

Parker Merrick of Bradford has been named to the dean's list for the second quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A second-year student, Merrick is studying animation. The child of Barry and Paula Merrick of Bradford, Merrick is a 2010 graduate of Haverhill High School.

Jonathan DeLong, son of Richard and Cathy DeLong of Bradford, has received the degree of juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law.

The following students were placed on Haverhill Alternative School's third quarter honor roll — Jesse Cunningham and Chris Cook earned distinction; Elijah Jackson, Adam Dalomba, Cambry Drouin, Max Sullivan, Josh Rogers, Moise Raphael and Derek Darko earned high honors; Shaine Clarke Reynolds, Jacob Desell-King, Esias Johnson and Jason LeBlanc earned honors.

Steven Spicer, son of Scott and Beth Spicer of Bradford, has been named to the dean's list for each of his first three terms of study at Bridgewater State University. He is a 2010 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

Allison Spicer, daughter of Scott and Beth Spicer of Bradford, has graduated from the honors program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. A 2008 graduate of Haverhill High, Spicer finished her bachelor of science degree a semester early. She double majored in environmental science and psychology, with a minor in education. Spicer also obtained a certificate in permaculture, the science of designing and building self-sustaining agricultural ecosystems. She is currently working as a teacher's aide/curriculum assistant at Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Amherst. As she did last year, she will be designing and directing the summer camp program for the school.

Robyn Marie Arthur has graduated from Bridgewater State University, Bartlett College of Science and Mathematics, with a bachelor of arts degree in biology. She is the daughter of Barbara and Steve Arthur of West Meadow Hill in Haverhill.

Sarah Shadallah of Bradford, daughter of Steven and Celeste Shadallah of Salem, N.H., has received her master's degree in nursing from Rivier College. Shadallah graduated with high distinction and was a member of Sigma Theta Thau International Honor Society. She graduated in 2008 from Salve Regina University with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She will work for Happy & Healthy Family Medicine in Salem, N.H. as a nurse practitioner.

Colleen Hayes of Bradford was among 60 Providence College students who spent a week working on service trips in four different locations around the world, as a part of the college's Feinstein Academic Institute's Alternative Spring Break 2012 program. Hayes, a member of the class of 2013, worked with the Center for Mediation, Peace, and the Resolution of Conflict (CEMPROC), and took photographs in Ecuador.

Army National Guard Master Sgt. Robert Smith has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Smith is an operations noncommissioned officer with the 26th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (Yankee) based in Reading. He has served 29 years in the military. He is the son of Robert and Catherine Smith of Haverhill.

Georgetown

Keith Burkinshaw and Roxanne Nealon, both of Georgetown, graduated from Endicott College on May 19.
