The Methuen Rail Trail group, is seeking members to help create a shared use trail for walkers, hikers and cyclists. Methuen needs a safe place for recreation; a place to walk, run and ride without competing with automobiles. The Herb Society of Andover, a group which enjoys gardening, cooking and crafting, meets on the second Monday of the month, with varied meeting times. New members and guests are welcome. For more information, call 978-683-0322.

The Massachusetts Commandery of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, is seeking gentlemen who are direct descendants of commissioned officers of the United States Army, Navy or Marine Corps who served in the Civil War, 1861-1865. The Hampstead Garden Club, meets every third Wednesday at the Hampstead Congregational Church, Hadley Hall, Hampstead, N.H., at 7 p.m. Members gather to learn, create, teach and share information about all aspects of gardening with others who love gardening. The Granite State African Violet Society, meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. (except January and July) at the Marion Gerrish Community Center in Derry, N.H.
