NORTH ANDOVER — On Aug. 2, lifelong North Andover resident, George Schruender Jr., was awarded the designation of Realtor Emeritus by the National Association of Realtors in recognition of his 40 years of service as a Realtor. As a second generation Realtor, Schruender began his career in April 1972, at Schruender Real Estate on Chickering Road in North Andover, now Real Living Schruender Real Estate. He has seen housing markets go up and down over his long tenure, but he has remained committed to the business and the community around him. Schruender is one of only two area real estate agents to win the Realtor of the Year Award before becoming President of the Board. While he is a familiar face in the real estate circles, he is just as well known for his tireless community service efforts which have earned him the North East Association of Realtors Good Neighbor Award in both 2009 and 2010. Schruender also serves on numerous local boards and committees.
