Department of Safety’s Boating Education Class, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Windham Fire Department, 3 Fellows Road. New Hampshire has a mandatory boating education law. Everyone 16 years of age and older who operates a motorboat over 25 horsepower on New Hampshire waters must have a boating education certificate. This program is designed to assist the boating public in having a safer, more enjoyable experience on the water through boating education. There is a $30 non-refundable fee per person for the class. 23rd Annual Lawrence Vietnam Memorial Scholarship Cabaret, 7 to 11:30 p.m. at Relief’s In, 1 Market St., Lawrence. Features a DJ, pasta dinner, raffles, door prizes and a cash bar. Roll call of 18 heroes at 7:40 p.m. Cost is $20 per person. For tickets, call 978-685-7407.

Great Hunger Commemoration, 11 a.m. at the An Gorta Mor Memorial in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker St., Lawrence. Hosted by the Division 8 AOH and LAOH. The memorial service will include a short talk on the great hunger, a prayer service by the Rev. William Waters, OSA and the placing of the wreath. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held in the mausoleum on the grounds of the cemetery. All AOH, LAOH members, families and friends are welcome.
