Ceremony for Distinguished Citizen Award, 6 to 9 p.m. at DiBurro’s in Ward Hill. Local business leader Ann Regan Flynn, Team Haverhill heavyweight and financial consultant Tim Jordan, and sports coach Don Wilson will be recognized for their contributions to the community. Given by the Yankee Clipper Council of the Boy Scouts of America, this award is for individuals who have been unselfish in their service to others and have demonstrated integrity and genuine concern for others in their professional and personal lives, making important contributions serving their fellow citizens, community, and nation. Open registration for Pentucket Players’ Summer Children’s Theatre Workshop, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at their loft on the fifth floor of the Washington Mill Building, 250 Canal St., Lawrence. The program will run on Thursdays, 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 1 to 3 p.m. The workshop, which is open to middle-school aged children (grades 5-8), or students going into fifth grade, will feature acting instruction as well as stage movement. A student director will also be working with participants on staging a non-musical comedy “25 Reasons Not to Be in a Play.” The production will be presented in the tent at Bradford Country Club, 201 Chadwick St., Bradford, on July 11 and 12. Gentle Yoga Class, 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at First Church Congregational, 26 Pleasant St., Methuen. All ages and all fitness levels welcome. Stretch and relax the mind. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Mats are available to use for those who don’t own one. $5 drop in fee. Email terryisme@verizon.net.
