Amvets of Haverhill meetings, held on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Amvets, 576 Primrose St., Haverhill. All veterans are welcome. Call 978-374-9807 for more information.

The Hampstead Civic Club (HCC), needs help designing a new logo. The contest is for Hampstead children in grades 1-12. Home school students are also welcome. The HCC will use the winning logo and give the winner $300 and free entry for one year into anything organized by the organization. Runners up will each receive $100 and free entry for one year into anything organized by the HCC. Postmark entries by May 30. Winners will be announced at the 2014 Independence Day Festival. Join the Jumpstart Merrimack Valley Community Corps, and make a difference in the lives of preschool children in Lawrence. Work in a classroom twice a week with a team of peers; earn a stipend or education award over $1,000; receive free training and professional development (leadership opportunities are available). The Methuen Garden Club, meets in the Garden Room of the Nevins Memorial Library, 305 Broadway in Methuen, on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m., September through May, unless otherwise noted on the website. This nonprofit organization encourages an interest in all aspects of gardening, promotes civic beauty and the conservation of natural resources. Many meetings offer speakers and refreshments. Methuen residency is not required and there is no obligation to join on one’s first visit. Guests are always welcome.
