The Derry VFW Ladies Auxiliary, are participating in a drive to collect items to send to the troops. The Auxiliary has adopted four units to send items oversees to. They are in need of personal hygiene items. Members also like to include non-perishable snacks. Any help is greatly appreciated. Those who cannot get to the store, but want to contribute, may make a donation. Checks can be made payable to the Derry Memorial Auxiliary; members will purchase the supplies. Items may be dropped off at Post No. 1617, 18 Railroad Ave., Derry, N.H. For more information, call Sarah Goodwin at 603-505-1466.

Conversational English Group, Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon at Memorial Hall Library, 2 North Main St., Andover. Open to students who have studied formal English and would like to practice their speaking and listening skills. To register, call Carolyn Fantini at 978-475-4602.

The Plaistow Exchange Club, a community service club that serves Greater Plaistow, meets at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Plaistow Public Library, 85 Main St., Plaistow, N.H. CIVIL AIR PATROL, Essex County Composite Squadron, meets on Mondays, 6 to 9 p.m. at Lawrence Municipal Airport, 52 Clark Road, North Andover. CAP is a volunteer Air Force Auxiliary, tasked by the Air Force to conduct search and rescue and disaster relief activities, to educate the public on aerospace, and to train young people (ages 12-18) in leadership, character, and the skills necessary to carry out missions.
