“That Reminds Me of a Story” presentation, 7 p.m. at the Newton Town Hall, South Main Street. With Rebecca Rule, host of the New Hampshire Authors Series on NH Public Television. Free and open to the public. Presented by the Newton Historical Society and the New Hampshire Humanities Council.

Wednesdays beginning July 10

2013 Junior Rifle Program, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pelham Fish and Game Club, 100 Simpson Mill Road, Pelham. Offered to members of the Pelham Fish and Game Club as well as other area youth, ages 12-18. The course is open to both male and female students and will consist of general gun safety education, safe rifle handling, and instruction on handling and firing a .22 rifle. Safety and marksmanship will be emphasized. After safety instruction, there will be live firing on the rifle range. Students may use their own rifle or rifles provided by the club (all rifles must be .22 rim fire caliber only, unless otherwise stated). pelhamfishandgame.org.

Archery, 6 to 7 p.m. at the Center School, 2 Lowell Road, Windham. With New England School of Archery and Supplies. Held indoors at the school in case of inclement weather. For ages 8 to adult (beginners and advanced). Cost is $60 per person, $55 for second person in the same family. Price includes instruction/equipment). Pre-registration is required. Fairy Garden Workshop for Children, 1 to 3 p.m. at Smolak Farms, North Andover. Children will decorate their own pot with fairy sparkles, then plant them with miniature blossoms and adorn with fairy wings. For ages 5 and up. Parents are welcome.
