Walk for Awareness, 1:30 p.m. at Riverside Park. The walk will begin in the Lincoln Avenue parking lot. Registration and sign in starts at 1 p.m. This is a dog and family friendly fundraiser to support children in the dialysis unit at Children’s Hospital Boston and to raise organ transplant awareness. 978-521-5659.

A Methuen Historical Society Event, 2 to 3 p.m. at the Tenney Grammar School, 75 Pleasant St., Methuen. Daniel Tenney III will give a talk on the Tenney family. Refreshments to follow. methuenhistoricalsociety.org.

Annual Celebrations Expo, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover. Free admission. Meet some of the area’s party specialists who can help make one’s event a success. 978-470-1356, templeemanuel.net.

Ecumenical Taize Service, 7 p.m. at Groveland Congregational Church, 4 King St. The candlelight meditation service is modeled on the services held at the Taize community in France. It involves singing and listening to the word of God in an atmosphere of silence and peace. 978-372-3463, grovelanducc.org.

“Lithuanians in the Lawrence Strike of 1912,” 1 p.m. in the Lawrence State Park Visitors Center, 1 Jackson St. Features the third victim of the strike, Jonas Smolskas. Also includes Lithuanian refreshments and music. 978-685-4478.

Methuen rail Trail Cleanup, 8:30 a.m. in the paved area behind the New England Shed Co., off of Union Street. The committee will be cutting back growth on both sides of the trail going south. Get a little exercise and meet the people who maintain the trail. Coffee and snacks will be provided. methuenrailtrail.org.

Pot Luck Supper, 2 to 5 p.m. at the East Parish Meeting House, Middle Road, Haverhill. Neighbors can get together and share recipes. A silent auction will be held to raise monies for a $500 scholarship to be given to a Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School senior at graduation to use toward his/her field of study. Membership dues will be collected at this time, $10 for families, $5 for singles. Everyone is asked to bring a pot luck meal. Standard items on the menu each year are Swedish meatballs, baked beans, mulled cider, chicken/broccoli casserole, squash and desserts. All are welcome. 978-372-2652.
