Meyer Chambers has brought together members of the local black Catholic community to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. “Annie!” Auditions, 6:30 p.m. at the Spotlight Playhouse rehearsal space, 24 Essex St., second floor, Haverhill. Callbacks, if needed, will be on Jan. 15, 6:30 p.m. Performance dates: April 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m., April 28 at 3 p.m. Children and adults are encouraged to audition and should prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show (but not a song from the show). Relay For Life Kick Off event, 6:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 37 Main St., Salem, N.H. Includes guest speaker, Dr. Juliann Chmielecki of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT. Dr. Chmielecki is actively researching the causes and potential cures for various cancers. Her work is funded by a post-doctoral research fellowship funded by the American Cancer Society.
